Description of Client: A start-up clothing company which will first launch a line of t-shirts in the Fall of 2011 and then go on to men's polos, ties and pants in a unique, classic American style. Clothing will use pre-manufactured base clothing at first, but will seek American-made materials, sewn by American labor, before formal clothing lines appear.

Total Grant Funding Sought: $1,000 for start-up funds, or $330/month for three months.

One-time or Ongoing need? This is for start-up funding only. Ongoing funding will be required and am interested in exploring opportunities with investors.

How will this grant will be spent? Material acquisition, payment of seamstresses and artists for initial designs, Web hosting and design, social media presence, managerial oversight of the start-up. Client will provide all Funders with ongoing financial and progress reports.

The chief blogger is owner of the site, and is an experienced writer who writes with clarity, precision and humor. This initial funding will enable this writer to focus on producing 2-3 posts per week and seek out advertisers for the site.

Total Grant Funding Sought: $500 from one or more sources.

One-time or Ongoing need?: One-time.

How will this grant will be spent?: Fifty percent will be one month’s compensation for the blogger, who hopes to quickly ramp up to $300 in compensation each month after the first month, solely through advertising. The remainder will go towards production of business material to attract advertisers to the site, including business cards, fliers and postage. Donor will receive weekly updates, or more frequent, if requested, as to progress of the blogger’s goals.
